She Gonna Pop began as a creative outlet for the new experiences I had while pregnant with my daughter. They were too funny and strange to keep to myself, so I tipped them out of my brain as a cathartic exercise and to connect with other mums through my dank sense of humour.

After the hatching process the experiences kept coming, and my urge to illustrate them only grew. As my daughter – 'Small Pops' – developed a voice of her own, every day was positively stretch-marked with subversive gems. And with no pressure to create something careful and beautiful, the process became a satisfying counter-balance to my professional life.

I have tentatively published some online; I have many more in the wings; I am frequently nagged by similarly cursed mum-souls who have the misfortune to share my inappropriate sense of humour!
